July 1, 2009 - Canada Day Turns Our Attention To A Few Choice Canadian Cuties! - "Hayden Christensen - Fanboys and their girlfriends alike can share their love for the 28-year-old Vancouver native thanks to his turn as Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars.” He’s engaged to “O.C.” alum Rachel Bilson and even stars with her in the upcoming flick “New York, I Love You.” Hey Hayden, we love you, too!" July 1, 2009 - Factory Girl Style - Edie Sedgwick was a style icon of the 60's and the film style and costume design brought the times to life in the movie Factory Girl starring Sienna Miller, Hayden Christensen and Guy Pearce. Here's some of the fun jewelry worn by Sienna in the movie that you can add to your own jewelry collection. Steve Sasco Designs
"Steve Sasco Designs' Factory Girl Collection are inspired by the movie “Factory Girl”. A movie based on the life of young socialite, one of Andy Warhol’s ‘superstars’ who was famous for her ‘shoulder duster’ earrings. Steve Sasco Designs was the jewelry designer for the movie, creating earrings worn by Sienna Miller."

July 1, 2009 - Hidden Gem: Factory Girl - I love this review of Facotry Girl. When the movie was first released the reviews were very mixed and some downright trashed it. As a movie on a strictly entertainment level it is very underrated. It may have ended up a little too commercialized to be called an arthouse film and yet it still retains an indie charm and evokes the 60's era with accurate authenticity due to George Hickenlooper's filming style. The characters always seemed pitch perfect. Though Hayden had to modify his performance during the editing process because of legal pressures, his portrayal of "the musician" still remains a bright spot in the film and a very cool performance.
Enjoy the entire review at Female First UK but here are the quotes about Hayden from the article.
"Edie Sedgwick (Sienna Miller) is a spoilt little rich girl who is running from the past that haunts her. In a bid to further her art career she heads for New York City.
Here she meets Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce), who craves fame and attention, and with the beautiful Edie on his arm he gets what he wants. As the drug culture explodes Edie embraces it until she finds herself caught between two men Warhol and a musician (Hayden Christensen)."
"Hayden Christensen has the most interesting role. He is labelled in the credits as just ‘the musician’ but he is playing the role of Bob Dylan. However the fact that the film implies that Dylan played a hand in Edie’s downfall angered the singer and due to legal pressures all references to him were moved from the film. So sadly this key relationship to Edie in the film is now not much more than a nameless cameo."
"Christensen’s character provides sanctuary and safety for Edie from Warhol’s aggressive puppetering. Christensen gives a great performance as he slowly moves away from his Star Wars tag."
"In all Factory Girl is a tragic story of a young girl who placed her trust in a man who used and betrayed her, playing a huge part in her downfall. But the real strength of this movie is the superb casting with Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen in particular producing career boosting performances."

June 22, 2009 - Road to Movie Award Season - Are there surprises ahead on the way to the Oscars and Golden Globes and other awards? According to Variety's Timothy Gray there have been plenty of box office surprise hits so far this year but none garnering the kind of critical acclaim that usually goes along with award winning films.
There are films on the horizons from award winning directors and nominated actors that may fill that bill but what's going to be the competition for this years awards and nominations? Last year Oscar voters surprisingly went for a little known film called "Slum Dog Millianaire". Could there be more surprises this year?
Gray list films coming soon that he thinks could be contenders in various categories with one of Hayden's upcoming films also on the list:
October: Fox Searchlight's "Amelia" biopic with Hilary Swank; "New York, I Love You" (Vivendi); the Weinstein Co.'s long-delayed "The Road," starring Viggo Mortensen in the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel; Calibra Pictures' "Iron Cross," Roy Scheider's last film (tentative date).

June 16, 2009 - Lacoste Challenge Paris - In the May 24th news items (see below) there was a roughly translated article with something about a promotion for Lacoste Challenge in Paris near City Hall involving a trampoline. Well, we all wondered what that was about. Right? Was Hayden (or perhaps Hesja the trampoline champ) going to show up? Were people going to take pictures in front of the Lacoste Challenge ad with Hayden's picture on it? Was Lacoste going to let people re-create their trademark models jumping in the air ads?
Well, kinda. Lacoste gave visitors the oppotunity to jump in front of a large backdrop of the Lacoste ad with the car and no Hayden so they could have their picture taken and be featured in the ad. Looks like French residents and tourists alike had a lot of fun and here are some pictures from the event. You can find more pics on the owners sites. Source, Source 2

June 10, 2009 - Hayden's Glamour Interview - Hayden talks about why the Lacoste brand is a natural fit for him. Talking about tabloids, his privacy and his lack of computer skills and technological know how (He does use a cell phone.), he's charming as ever. Hayden also talks about his latest projects and the possibility of his first ever directing job with the next Cities of Love project. Here's a couple of quotes from the video.
Speaking of Lacoste Challenge Cologne:
Hayden - "It's a really simple level. It smells good to me. I think a lot of colognes can be really sort of overpowering or sort of really specifically one smell and this is not that. It's sort of subtly a lot of different sort of natural things....I really like the way it smells....I'm wearing it now and I'm happy with the way I smell and so is my fiancee."
Asked about his hairstyle:
Glamor - "You don't use your hair as a sexual weapon?"
Hayden - "As a sexual weapon? (chuckles) No. No I don't. I don't. (smiling) To me it just grows on the top of my head. I try to make sure it's not too out of control."
June 10, 2009 - Anakin/Vader Mimobot Series - Designer USB flash drives features Darth Maul, multiple Darth Vaders and Clone Wars Cartoon Captain Rex. Mimoco has a new line of designer Star Wars flash drives including a special edition Darth Vader.
"The new Darth Vader Unmasked MIMOBOT features a removable helmet, underneath which lurks the scarred countenance of Anakin Skywalker, as played by Hayden Christensen. For added excitement, one in six Darth Vader MIMOBOT drives will unveil “chase” variants of Anakin’s face from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi – older, paler and at peace, having come to terms with his estranged son Luke."
I seem to remember Hayden saying how weird it was to walk into a store and see his face on a box of cereal. I wonder how he's going to feel knowing people will be able to plug his face into any usb port on thousands of computers everywhere. Read more...

June 6, 2009 - Hayden Tennis - Thought everyone might like to see a brief clip from the interview of Hayden playing tennis during the French Open at the Tennis Club de Paris representing Lacoste. Don't forget you can enjoy the entire video by visiting Sky Movies.
June 5, 2009 - Hayden's latest Interview on Alex Zane's Guestlist - Hayden talks tennis, why he gave up eating pork, two little piggies and his favorite films on Sky Movies' Guestlist. You'll enjoy this nice, long interview with Hayden as he plays straight man to Alex's comedy. At least Zane wasn't dressed as Princess Leia like the last time he interviewed Hayden. And one of his favorite movies.......Galaxy Quest. It's one of my favs too and the DVD I always watch when I need a good laugh out loud movie. (Thanks to Sonia from Sweetest Adoration Forum for the link.)
Hayden Christensen may always be known as Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader in the Star Wars prequels. But, holding court on Alex Zane's Guest List this week, he reveals why Jumper proved a more hazardous shoot, leaving him with the nickname "One big eye", and both he and Alex relive the time they (separately) attempted to "do a Cool Hand Luke" and munch through 50 hard boiled eggs.
Hayden decided 15 was un oeuf, while Alex coughed up a "eggy furball".

June 3, 2009 - Shanghai, I Love You in the Works - Last June Hayden spoke briefly in an interview while promoting the Jumper DVD about being asked to create and direct one of the shorts in the next movie in the Cities of Love series which is to be filmed in Shanghai. Shanghai, I Love You, also known as Bejing, I Love You is scheduled to go before cameras in the fall of 2009. There is no word on cast and crew yet but IMDb has a listing so we can check for updates. As of May 20, the project is listed in "Pre-Production" and looking to begin in the fall. We'll have to wait and see if Hayden is still involved in this project. IMDb: Shanghai, I Love You
According to Variety, the producer of Shanghai, I Love You wants production on the pic to begin in the fall to be completed in time for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. Source

May 29, 2009 - Hayden's Lacoste Spirit - According to some reports, Hayden and Rachel attended today's match between Rafael Nadal and Lleyton Hewitt at Roland Garros for the 2009 French Open in Paris. Both Hayden and Rachel wore Lacoste for the occasion. A few more pictures have been added to the gallery and I'll be adding more throughout the weekend.
From Don't Miss Translation
"There was beautiful weather in Paris today, and there are beautiful people at Roland Garros. Hayden Christensen triggered hysteria arriving a few minutes ago."
May 29, 2009 - The Magic Project - I've been keeping tabs on changes to the project formerly known as Mandrake just in case so just a warning that it's all still rumor and speculation at this point. There have been some updates to the project at IMDb and on the Omega website.
The Mandrake poster has been removed from "new projects". The Synopsis is the same. Elsewhere on the site you can still find the Mandrake poster under "Pre-Production" but the PDF file has been removed.

May 28, 2009 - More Hayden and Lacoste - A few more photos in the gallery of Hayden enjoying tennis in Paris during the French Open. (Thanks to Meyree for the pictures.)
May 28, 2009 - Hayden Christensen vs Mats Wilander 2009 French Open - Hayden made his way to the Tennis Club of Paris for a friendly game with one of the greats of tennis Mats Wilander. Celebrating the French Open and the history between Lacoste, the sponsor of the tournament and it's debuting fragrance Lacoste Challenge, the two sportsmen met for game, set and match on the sunny court in Paris. Hayden truly brought the game and was smartly attired in vintage inspired Lacoste white tennis clothes, no doubt a reminder of another veteran of the courts, Rene Lacoste. However Mats Wilander hasn't lost his game and won the match. (Thanks to Meyree for the link)
Translation:
Mats Wilander and Hayden Christensen played for perfume - The three-time winner at Roland-Garros and the star of the trilogy "Star Wars" exchanged a few rounds to promote the new fragrance Lacoste.
Mats Wilander won a match on Thursday. Not at Roland Garros as in the best years that have enabled him to win the tournament in 1982, 1985 and 1988 but a few hundred meters away, on the courts of the Tennis Club de Paris. Wilander faced one who played Anakin Skywalker in the trilogy "Star Wars" by George Lucas, Hayden Christensen. The two stars are in two tie-breaks to promote the new fragrance Lacoste Challenge. And logically, the Swede who won. Source
May 24, 2009 - Lacoste Challenge Fun and Games - Our fan on the street in France says the street posters of Hayden for Lacoste Challenge have all come down but there are sure to be other advertisements of Lacoste throughout the month of May as the men's fragrance makes its debut. Lacoste has a special relationship to the French Open as Rene' Lacoste was an avid player and fan of the tournament. Events have been scheduled to coincide with the tournament coverage.
Translation
"Do not resist the call of the game" - (May 20, 2009) While the technicians are working around the clay of Roland Garros, the partners of the competition are also on a war footing. Especially the brand Lacoste who intimately linked at Roland Garros since its creation, could not miss the event.
For this new edition, a major event will be held in Paris, opposite the Town Hall. The opportunity to collect a maximum of curious bystanders and others on a giant trampoline! The goal? Succeeding the best imitation of Hayden Christensen in the campaign for the new fragrance from Lacoste: Challenge. Of course, the bottom has been reproduced so that the illusion is "perfect."
For those who prefer video games, Lacoste will offer them to get into the heads poster of Roland Garros with Lacoste Challenge Cup.
From 30 May to 6 June

If you’ve seen George Lucas’s epic space fantasy, then you know exactly why you should be tuning in. If you don’t… well… here are all the reasons you need to settle in with some popcorn for a long, lazy weekend in front of the TV."
"Hardcore “Star Wars” fans like me have some issues with George Lucas’s approach to the most recent trilogy, starting with 1999’s “The Phantom Menace.” Wherever your opinions fall with regards to the new movies, it’s hard to say a foul word against Anakin Skywalker’s (Hayden Christensen) beautifully orchestrated descent into the Dark Side of the Force. In addition to be able to witness the birth of Darth Vader, “Revenge of the Sith’s” climactic lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Skywalker, his former pupil, adds new context to “A New Hope’s” — the first movie released in the series — rematch saber duel." May 15, 2009 - Casinio Jack Filming Location - (Tribune) Lochness Links hole No. 4 featured site - WELLAND — It’s a long way from Scotland, but Lochness Links golf course is close enough for Hollywood. Kendel Bielby, the administrative assistant from the golf course, said producers of a movie starring Kevin Spacey called Casino Jack will be filmed at the 4th hole at Lochness Links within the next three to five weeks.
Bielby said golf course general manager Stephen Billyard had a phone call from director George Hickenlooper a few weeks ago. Since then, she said movie producers have been at the course “a few times to scope out the place.”
“I could tell as soon as they walked in, I was looking at them and they all had jeans on. I was like, ‘You guys aren’t golfers,’” Bielby said. After that second visit, golf course management was informed their course was selected for filming the scene.
“They were looking to produce a scene that takes place at St. Andrews in Scotland,” she said. “So since we’re a links course, they thought we were the best way to go.” And the golf courses’ Scottish name, Lochness Links, likely helped make up their minds, she added.
“They saw the No. 4 hole and they decided that was perfect,” she said. In addition to filming at the fourth hole, she said the production crew is considering filming additional footage in front of the Lochness Links clubhouse, although specific details are still being determined.

May 13, 2009 - Mona Lisa Update - Several french movie sites are saying that Hayden is still attached to Mona Lisa in the role of George and that Mickey Rourke is playing the role of the crime boss that Michael Caine played in the original film. Other articles are saying that Mickey Rourke will be playing George, the same role that Hayden had been reported to be playing and mentions Hayden only as being previously attached. I've posted a few of the articles below. Sorry for the poor translation but you'll get the idea.
I don't know if it's pre-Cannes frenzy but casting for Mona Lisa is still unclear judging by the lack of concensus among the current articles on the movie.
Premiere Cinema - Last year, the most intriguing project was emerging: a remake of "Mona Lisa by Larry Clark. In 1986, the film by Neil Jordan returned from the Cannes festival with a prize of interpretation (ex aequo with Michel Blanc) to Bob Hoskins, it is true dandy in role as a bodyguard to a call girl with whom he falls in love.

That said, as he likes the very disorders, the relationship between George and the call-girl has the mark.
The film was presented at Cannes in 1986 where Bob Hoskins (who plays George) came away with the Palme best actor tied with Michel Blanc.
So this is a big challenge that rests on the shoulders of Hayden Christensen who will take over the role of Georges. What is known is that the director Larry Clark likes to stage handsome young adults. Hence his choice certainly. We'll see ...
The beautiful Eva Green (Casino Royale) will play the the call-girl and Mickey Rourke, multiplying the projects since his come-back (The Wrestler), becomes a formidable mafia. Mona Lisa is a project still confusing to Larry Clark, which, until then, through his films (Kids, Ken Park, Bully,) Source

Eva Green and Mickey Rourke are expected to resume the roles of Cathy Tyson and Bob Hoskins in the new version of film noir released in 1986. Last November, Rosario Dawson (seven lives) and Hayden Christensen (Jumper) were attached to the project.
Announced in 2005, the proposed remake of "Mona Lisa should be the title Shame. It revisit this tragic love story about a gangster who falls for the girl whose call-it is the driver. Larry Clark, author of Bully (2001) and Ken Park (2002), will begin shooting the film in September. Source
May 13, 2009 - Hickenlooper Finds Spacey for ‘Casino Jack’ - "Variety posted casting news regarding George Hickenlooper’s new film Casino Jack saying Kevin Spacey has signed on to star as the title character, disgraced Washington power broker Jack Abramoff. However, a trip over to IMDB reveals this must be old news and they even have several more names attached to the project."
Filming is set to begin this month in Toronto, which leads me to believe the names on IMDB may actually be correct, but considering the site’s track record on films in production take the following bit of news as rumor until otherwise confirmed.
IMDB lists Hayden Christensen, David Cross, Christian Campbell, Christian Campbell and Jeffrey R. Smith as members of the cast. Christensen is listed as playing Michael Scanlon, a former communications director for Rep. Tom DeLay, lobbyist, and public relations executive who has plead guilty to corruption charges and is currently assisting in the investigation of his former partners Jack Abramoff, Grover Norquist (Smith) and Ralph Reed (Campbell) by separate state and federal grand jury investigations into lobbying performed for Indian tribes running casino gambling businesses. The project is an Americanized remake of the 1986 British film directed by Neil Jordan and produced by HandMade Films. Bob Hoskins starred as George, a London chauffeur who drives a high-class call girl Simone (Cathy Tyson). Michael Caine played Dinny, George's old boss who hired him to drive Simone and to spy on one of her regulars.
There have been a number of actors associated with the remake over the years. Rosario Dawson was first said to be Clark's choice to play the female lead in 2005 when the project was titled Shame. Most recently, Hayden Christensen was reported to be playing the male lead; it's unclear whether Rourke has replaced him or if Rourke will play the Caine role instead.
May 12, 2009 - Steven Gould Talks Jumper - Movie, Books, Sequels - The first Jumper movie seemed only an introduction of sorts to the story and characters but if Jumper 2 uses the second novel Reflex for elements of its' story then there is a good movie ahead. Steven Gould spoke to io9 about a sequel to Doug Liman's Jumper starring Hayden Christensen. If you haven't yet read Reflex, you're missing a real page turner.
io9
Liman has previously stated that he would want to use Reflex as the source material for the second film, focusing on expanding the Jumpers' teleportation powers. In Reflex, this includes jumping to other planets and traveling through time. The book also focuses on Rice's girlfriend Millie, played by Rachel Bilson in the original film, gaining the ability to jump.
Gould
"Liman has expressed a particular interest in an unspecified moment in the sequel Reflex, and I suspect it's this twinning thing that Davy does, where he's jumping to a place and back and forth to the point where he's in both places at once, and a hole opens connecting the two places. So when he's chained to a wall, he jumps back and forth to the ocean and all this water floods out of the hole. If ever there was a cinematic moment, that's it. And then there's this thing from Reflex where you have a very shadow-y Illuminati sort of government agency and they very much want to control jumpers. And that organization showed up in the scripts, but they ended up having to cut it because of budget. So that thread might show up." Read all at IO9
May 11, 2009 - Neuromancer Back in the News - According to Production Weekly on Twitter, Liv Tyler is in talks for an unspecified role in Joseph Kahn's adaptation of Neuromancer. The reports have given rise to perhaps recycled rumors on a few movie sites that Hayden is still attached to star as the main character in the movie based on author William Gibson's historical and original cyberpunk novel. (Sources: Filmjunk and JoBlo
In January 2008, Hayden was attached to the movie and listed in the role of Case on Production Weekly and also on the movie production website at Seven Arts Pictures. Since May 2008 however, there has been no cast listed at Seven Arts but the rumors have persisted. It may be worth watching to see how things develop but there's no reason to assume Hayden is attached at this time. Still, things can change quickly in Hollywood. Neuromancer is also being marketed at this year's Cannes Film Market but only Liv Tyler is listed in the cast.

Here is a little of what Wikipedia has about Michael Scanlon.
On Friday, November 18, 2005, in a one-count criminal information filed by the US Justice Department, Scanlon was charged with conspiring with another lobbyist, who was identified only as "Lobbyist A,"[3] and believed to be Abramoff [4]. Allegedly, Scanlon and Abramoff's behavior was reported to the FBI by Scanlon's ex-fiancée, Emily Miller. She turned in Scanlon when he broke off the engagement in favor of a 24-year-old waitress at a Rehoboth Beach seafood restaurant, after having purchased a $4.7 million mansion in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (part of the DuPont estate) and furnishing it for Ms. Miller.[5] [6] That same day Scanlon agreed to testify against Abramoff in any future criminal case involving his ex-partner.
On November 21, 2005, in proceedings before Federal District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle, Scanlon pleaded guilty to conspiring to bribe a member of Congress and other public officials. Under the plea agreement, Scanlon will repay $19.6 million to his former Indian tribe lobbying clients. [7] He is expected to testify against Abramoff and anyone else indicted in the case, according to Justice Department sources.[8] Read more on Michael Scanlon

'Captain Jack' - "Spacey to play Abramoff - Kevin Spacey will play Jack Abramoff in a film that starts shooting in May, reports Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood. Finke says she's told the film will be "a modern day GoodFellas set in Washington, D.C., that plays like a thriller involving Karl Rove and others in former President George W. Bush's inner circle," and will also star Hayden Christensen. Spencer Garrett will play Tom DeLay, and Tea Leoni is in talks to play Abramoff's wife." More from Politico
Kevin Spacey to Play Abramoff - "The two of them [Hickenlooper, Spacey] are shooting a script by Dead Ringers writer Norman Snider called Casino Jack (which was Abramoff's nickname)...
The film is likely to cause a bit of a stir if marketed right: it's a Goodfellas-style thriller about Abramoff's corrupt stint in Washington, wheeling and dealing with members of the Bush administration. The film supposedly even involves figures such as Karl Rove, and most likely Tom DeLay as well. Production Weekly broke news last Friday that Spacey and Hayden Christensen (who Hickenlooper worked with last in Factory Girl) are playing Abramoff and Michael Scanlon." Read more....
George Hickenlooper, Kevin Spacey meet with jailbird Jack Abramoff - "George Hickenlooper, the native St. Louisan who directed the Warhol-era flick “Factory Girl” and the rock doc “Mayor of the Sunset Strip,” is profiling a particularly infamous character in his next film: lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who is currently in prison after multiple convictions related to shady casino operations. Hickenlooper is preparing a movie based on Abramoff titled “Casino Jack.” The director and star Kevin Spacey were recently allowed to visit Abramoff at federal pen to get the lobbyist’s side of the story. April 24, 2009 - Casino Jack - Rumor Mill Gets in Gear - Columnist Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood has posted today some behind the scenes goings on from a "source" about preparation for the upcoming movie starring Kevin Spacey and Hayden Christensen. The article reads like an intelligence gathering operation and pretty intriguing stuff. Among other things the article says the movie will start filming later next month. The director, George Hickenlooper also directed Hayden in Factory Girl.
"My sources tell me that 2-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey and film director George Hickenlooper (Factory Girl, Hearts of Darkness) are right now visiting Washington DC lobbyist Jack Abramoff in Cumberland Federal Prison. Abramoff, of course, was responsible for one of the biggest political scandal to hit the nation's capital since Watergate, and is the subject of a screenplay Casino Jack starring Spacey and directed by Hickenlooper. The story is described to me as a modern day GoodFellas set in Washington DC that plays like a thriller involving Karl Rove and others in former President George W. Bush's inner circle......Cameras will roll later next month."
"I'm told that Kevin Spacey is set to star as Jack Abramoff, Hayden Christensen will play Abramoff's closest associate Mike Scanlon, Spencer Garrett (Public Enemies) will play Majority Leader Tom DeLay, and Arrested Development star David Cross will play Abramoff crony Adam Kidan. The production is also in talks with Tea Leoni as Abramoff's wife." Read the article..

“I recently acquired a farm north of Toronto,” Christensen announces, “and I just bought a big excavator and a dump truck and a bobcat – construction toys. I plan to start building soon. I can’t wait to go out there and move dirt and get my hands dirty.” He bought his heavy-duty vehicles at an auction in Southern Ontario, where to his immense pleasure the people were far more intent on ogling gear than celebrities. “It’s currently a hay farm, but I want it to be a working farm. I want to fill the barn with livestock. First pigs, then cattle and horses.” Source: EnRoute Magazine.
“He made his name as the young Darth Vader, but for Hayden Christensen the next year launches his career on a new intergalactic trajectory. The young Canuck will find himself sporting Bob Dylan's hat, in the arms of sexy starlet Jessica Alba, surrounded by Virgins, and transporting himself around the world in a split second. With such a fantastic future, how will he keep it real?”
